Paul Epstein spent eight years as a percussionist in the Army band after graduating from high school. While enlisted, he also earned an associate’s degree in music, but his formal education ended there. However, the “School of Hard Knocks” taught Epstein more than any textbook could. After finishing his Army commitment, Epstein entered the wonderful and exciting world of car sales, where he quickly moved into management. He did well and made “good” six-figure money annually. He did this at the expense of personal freedom and almost never saw his family. “I was working all the time,” Epstein said. “I wasn’t happy with what I was doing. I had always dreamed of having my own business. I wanted to be my own boss and not have someone owning me and telling me what I can and can’t do.” Epstein tried several potential businesses, just hoping to find a way to realize his dream of making his own schedule. He sold soap, vitamins, had a furniture store with a friend and attempted to open a consulting business that never got off the ground. “All those things failed to give me the result I was after,” Epstein said. “They did manage to cost me several thousand dollars.” An NAA newspaper ad placed by Mike Lewantowicz changed things for Epstein, who promptly answered the ad, which mentioned that NAA had leads. Epstein got his life insurance license in Sept. 2005 and started writing business in December. “I had a bit of a slow start and didn’t think it was going to work out for me,” Epstein said. “Then, Mike told me I needed to go to a convention that NAA was having at the end of January. He said it would be well worth the time and money spent to attend. He was right!” Epstein was able to learn and associate with NAA’s top leaders. He found out the best ways to handle specific situations and honed in on what the NAA system is. “I saw so many people making money and having success,” Epstein said. “That’s when I decided that if they could do it, so could I. I came home from conference with a new resolve.” Epstein started following the NAA system instead of trying to figure out a better way on his own. Soon, results came and he was writing solid business consistently. He was also helping families all over the United States with the products NAA is able to offer though its many carriers. After only nine months of working hard and following the system, Epstein made more than $100,000 and hasn’t looked back since. On top of that income, Epstein has finally found the freedom he always wanted to spend time with his family – wife Valerie and their four children. Epstein knows it wasn’t always easy, but after losing a home due to some of his failed business ventures prior to NAA, the Epsteins got a second change with NAA. “NAA has been awesome! I love having control of my time, and being able to help people and add value to their lives,” Epstein said. “Now I am trying to give back by helping others build a business and realize their dreams! Thanks NAA!”
